Sandlewood blocks come to us from South America. The color is a light yellow, almost tan… almost vanilla color, with very dense and irregular growth rings. The color is uniform from lot to lot. Color variation is due only to annual growth rings. These blocks are available in 1" and ¾" depth, and at this time only available in a 4" x 4" face size. This specie is often used for furniture as well as flooring. We looked at the End Grain and found a warm, rich, and soft yellow grain that would enhance a room with much interest. Extremely dense and hard, so it will stand up (no pun intended) to spike heels. Ladies dress shops… take note!
Each package of Sandlewood Blocks weighs about 27 lbs. Blocks weigh about 3.37 lbs. per sq. ft. So, these blocks are rather heavy, which accounts for its hardness and durability. Please allow at least 4 months for manufacturing and delivery. |
