Cerisewood blocks come to us from South America. Cerisewood is an evergreen, yet actually part of the cashew family. Cerisewood is a very hard, textured, and irregular grained, light red specie when freshly cut. The blocks will turn to a deep brick red over time due to tannins in the wood. Some will have black streaks running through them. They are extremely handsome. The annual growth rings are barely visible without a lens. Cerisewood is one of the most durable of our block products… very hard, very strong because they are very dense. They would be very effective for industrial applications to support heavy steel wheeled vehicles. Also very effective for commercial or residential application because of appearance!
Cerisewood Blocks and Rounds can be used out of doors as well. Please see the photos! Cerisewood Rounds would add a touch of class to any backyard or exterior application that needs to blend rustic beauty with durability. Suggestions: Paths in Gardens, Nurseries, how about Steps on Mountains! Maybe for borders along driveways! We could do an entire floor… great in a log cabin!
This high density wood can take any type of weather or ground condition, humidity or weight. No need to paint or varnish. Sand them smooth to better see the annual growth rings… if you can, or leave them mill cut textured for more traction. We've applied wax directly to the sanded surface for a handsome hand rubbed look.
Cerisewood blocks are available in 1" and ¾" in depth, in 4" x 4" face size. Custom sizes on request. Each package of Cerisewood block flooring weights 38.1 lbs. Blocks weigh about 4.76 lbs. per sq. ft. So, this block is rather heavy, which accounts for its hardness and strength. Please allow at least 4 months for manufacturing and shipping.
Cerisewood Rounds would be between 10" and 14", most would be 12" diameter. Rounds are available in either 1" or 1 ½" thickness.
We can't sample the rounds… sorry! But we may have some in stock! Call for pricing and availability!
